WHAT IS THE THAXTON VIRGINIA DRIVING UNIVERSITY COURSE?
Driving University is the pioneer online driver improvement defensive driving school approved by the Virginia DMV and Virginia Thaxtoncourts. The Driving University course replaces the need to sit in a Thaxton classroom to complete a court referred Virginia driver improvement requirement. Plus it's done at your own pace. WHO TAKES THIS THAXTON VIRGINIA COURSE?
The online driver improvement course provided by Driving University is taken everyday by drivers to satisfy the Thaxton Virginia court driver improvement requirement. This requirement is usually caused by traffic tickets. There are several reasons for completing this Virginia DMV approved driver improvement course:
- Referred by a Thaxton court: reduce fines or dismiss a traffic ticket.
- Referred by the DMV: Too many driving points.
- Voluntary: the Virginia DMV will give you 5 safe driving points.
- Receive an insurance discount.
HOW DOES THIS ONLINE COURSE WORK?
The course is taken online from any PC with internet access. You can begin the course immediately.

The online course can be finished in one sitting or started and stopped as often as you like. When you wish to resume the course, we'll put you right back to the same spot where you left off. Once the course is completed, we'll send your Certificate of Completion either by first class mail or Fed Ex. If a Thaxton court referred you to take a driver improvement course, just send them your certificate of completion for ticket dismissal or fine reduction purposes. All completions are reported daily to the Virginia DMV by Driving University.
Your Thaxton Virginia Certificate of Completion
Driving University will report your completion to the Virginia DMV and process your Virginia Certificate of Completion the day you finish the course (Mon-Fri). Your certificate will be sent to you via first class mail. To have your certificate sent to you overnight via Fed Ex, select this option during registration ($22.95).
