Alaska DMV In-Person Test Requirement

The Alaska DMV requires the online test at the end of the course be taken at an approved test location where photo ID is presented. This is an Alaska DMV requirement. The online test can be taken at any one of these test locations (click here) or in the presence of a notary public. (Friends, co-workers, libraries and schools are some examples where you may find a notary.) Here's how it works.

  1. Complete the course
  2. Print the confirmation page at the end of the course, and have it signed at the library or by the notary
  3. Take the online quiz from the DrivingUniversity.com website at the library or in front of the notary
  4. Fax the signed/notarized confirmation page to DrivingUniversity.com

That's it! Once we receive your signed (or notarized) confirmation page, your Certificate of Completion will be processed and sent to you either by first class mail or Express Delivery, depending on your choice of delivery.

  1. The quiz is made up of multiple-choice questions like what you had in the course, and is taken online from the DrivingUniversity.com website. It’s not difficult at all.
  2. The quiz will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete and is graded electronically.
  3. If you do not pass the quiz, you may re-take it as many times as necessary. There is no additional cost to re-take the quiz.
  4. OUR GUARANTEE: Complete the quiz by 2 pm PT and your Certificate will be sent the same day! If after 2pm, your Certificate will be sent the next business day.
