Traffic School & Defensive Driving

Jack moved on and soon saw a much less forgivable and potentially deadly "mistake." He was next to a minivan driven by an obviously harried young mother who was holding a cell phone to her ear with one hand and gesturing with the other; obviously paying more attention to the conversation that what was going on around her. Jack sympathized when he saw no other adults and three tiny heads bobbing about in the back seat. But his sympathy quickly turned to concern when he realized that two of the children, no older than 4 or 5, were actually standing up on the seats. Jack wondered how the mother could allow the children to ride down the road unprotected – not to mention how horrible the consequences could be if there were to be an accident. Jack knew all too well, from seeing and hearing about such accidents in the news, the consequences of children riding in vehicles without properly being fastened in.

He made a mental note of the van’s license plate and would be reporting the lady’s carelessness from his cell phone when he got back to the school parking lot. “I’m not a tattle-tail”, he thought to himself. “I just need to report this lady before it’s too late”.
