AGGRESSIVE DRIVERS, continued

Your reaction to this kind of situation could mean the difference between life and death.  No, not all aggressive drivers are carrying concealed weapons; but all cars driven aggressively are potential killing machines.  Rage and vengeance are deadly substitutes for simple annoyance.  IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR LIFE, KEEP YOUR PERSPECTIVE!  So what if someone thinks you’re a slow driver?  Who cares if the other guy gets the parking space unfairly?  They are out of balance; you don’t have to be.  Go another direction; think of your spouse and kids; be thankful you aren’t the other guy.  Put some distance between your vehicle and his, and between yourselves.  Whatever you do, don’t make the situation worse.
road rage
Road rage: a leading cause of crashes and injuries. Defensive driving requires you to FORGIVE & FORGET on the roadways.

Whether you are shy, outgoing, submissive, or even ruthless, when you get behind the wheel of your vehicle, you need to become reasonable, and reasonably mild-mannered.  Your life, and the lives of others, depend on your cool-headedness.  What may seem to you to be wimpy, may in fact be a sign of strength.  It takes a strong person to overcome the urge to get even, to stop himself from showing who’s right.  If you can muster the will power to keep your mouth tight and your foot easy on the accelerator, you will have done the smart thing.  Smart is not always easy; dumb is always dangerous.
