LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
Alaska allows you the PRIVILEGE OF DRIVING, not the RIGHT TO
DRIVE. You earn the privilege of a driver's license by preparing
yourself to be a safe driver, and you keep the privilege by
practicing safe driving habits. Do not expect to be behind the
wheel of a car if you can't remember basic road signs. Do not
expect to be touring the countryside if you don't bother to practice
your skills enough to pass the driving test. And don't expect to
keep your license if you flaunt the laws and act recklessly. Nobody
has the right to endanger other lives. The State, however, has every
right and obligation to revoke your driving privileges. If you are
a threat to other drivers, the State doesn't want you on the road.
If you are a helpful, courteous driver, however, Alaska welcomes
you.
